Fixing Broken Care Journeys: An INTEROPen Hackathon

14th October 2019 @ 08:00 - 15th October 2019 @ 17:30 BST

Join us in Leeds for this FREE* two-day hackathon where we will aim to connect systems to deliver better care. We will be devising, developing and testing solutions to provide patients and care professionals with access to the information they need, when and where it’s needed – in the hospital, in the pharmacy, at the GP clinic or even at home.

Register Here

Bringing together developers of software from across health AND social care, we invite you to get stuck in and collaborate as we strive to put the technical building blocks in place to help resolve challenges and develop scalable solutions with the potential to ‘fix’ care journeys that are all too often broken.

This two-day hackathon will have a strong social care emphasis with particular focus on the following areas:

  • Patient Care Coordination (admissions, discharges, withdrawals to and from care settings/transfers of care)
  • Medicines Reconciliation/Consolidation
  • Events Management

Spanning these areas of focus, we will also have teams working on Authentication & Authorisation as well as facilitators for those wishing to use the National Record Locator.

Hackathon participants will have the day to ‘hack’ and solve both architectural and technological connectivity hurdles, with the opportunity to produce first-of-type connections that we will seek to scale more widely.

We will be using CareConnect FHIR resources curated by the INTEROPen community. These resources make it possible for us to further standardise and share data through APIs. Technical facilitators will be on hand to help vendors to provide support and to sense-check examples for real-world use.

This event will have a strong social care emphasis and all interested parties are invited to contribute towards technical preparations for the day. In keeping with INTEROPen values, all interested software suppliers are invited to take part in planning WebExes for this event and in the hackathon itself. These WebExes will aim to set out the scope and agenda for the hackathon, and to provide participants with the information to commence their architectural plans.

All conversations, technical preparations and updates relating to this event will be shared in the Hackathon Sub-Group on Ryver – INTEROPen’s collaboration platform**
